ANYWHO. Here's a review/overview/summary I posted on Goodreads:
Two Halves Whole by Melissa Abigail
Two Halves Whole continues from where Judge by the Cover left off, following the lives of the story’s hero and heroine and their developing relationship…or non-relationship. There are, however, important differences between this book and its predecessor. This story — as evidenced by the handsome lad on the cover ;) — is all about Ryu. Or at least, mostly about Ryu. While Book One closely followed Haruna’s gradual changes in perspective, Book Two goes deep, deeper into the mind of the Devil Half. Ryu’s forced to face difficult questions and make even more difficult decisions. He’s forced to either accept-and-pursue or reject-and-bury his innermost desires. Meanwhile, Haruna is also being challenged. Challenged to be daring. Challenged to forgive. Challenged to be herself. But there’s more happening than meets the eye… Because their story is more than teen romance and high school drama. It goes way beyond Haruna and Ryu and their relationship (or, ahem, non-relationship). What starts as a tense will-they-or-won’t-they situation, quickly becomes a dark mystery. It’s not merely a Whodunit—the question isn’t who, but why? And to what end? And all the while, like the old Italian city depicted in Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice, there is a solid thread that links everyone, that plagues those who struggle to find acceptance. That haunts those that seek revenge. Love. Hate. Prejudice. Greed. Two Halves Whole is not simply about halves without halos, or a world without innocents. It’s about the darkness that lies within. The internal struggle. To find freedom. Peace. The first step is to uncover the Ultimate Truth. What lengths will they go to to seek it? And if they find it, will it be the beginning of something new … or just way, way more than anyone can handle? View all my reviews
